• Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and use it as a mouth rinse. This helps reduce inflammation and cleanse the affected area.
  
• Place a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a cloth against the outside of the cheek near the painful tooth.
• Take over-the-counter pain medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to reduce pain.

•  Rinse the mouth gently with warm water to clean the area. 
• Apply a piece of gauze to the affected area to control bleeding. Maintain pressure for about 10 minutes. 
• Refrain from using the broken tooth for eating. Stick to soft foods and avoid extreme temperatures. 

• Examine the broken dental appliance to identify any loose or sharp pieces.
•  Apply dental wax or orthodontic wax over any sharp edges to prevent irritation or injury to the gums, cheeks, or tongue.
• Avoid using the broken appliance and try to minimize movement of the affected area to prevent further damage or discomfort.

• Carefully remove the loose crown and rinse it with warm water to clean any debris.
• Refrain from chewing on the side of the mouth with the loose crown to prevent further dislodging. 
• Stick to a soft diet and avoid sticky or hard foods until you can see your dentist for a permanent solution.
